Just how hot does new laser technology get?

can someone tell me what the upper height index is for the new silicon reflecter laser they are tooling with?
What is the effect on metal? Could it be used to superheat a weapon so that the assailant either drops it or the shells pop in the clip. It could be used in conjunction with robotics and operated from a video console from the saftey of a air conditioned RV with a cell tower on top to handle the video and audio streaming. Could be sent in ahead of soldiers so that combatants could be disarmed and given the chance to surrender without putting the troops in harms way. Then when they are disarmed or neutralized the troops can safely go in and do what they need to do. If a unit had legs that could operate like an octogon with the firing and targetting mechanism on a 360 * 360 gyro encased in titanium and a couple inches of teflon, it could navigate air ducts, tunnels, sewers, streets, stairs, close quarters areas. The visual spectrum would allow sight of all manors of trap
